Our values

At Kellyville High School, our educational community is anchored by three core values: Learning, Excellence, and Integrity. We are dedicated to a culture of Learning where students engage with every opportunity, collaborating with peers and teachers while embracing challenges as essential steps for growth. We expect students to be ready to learn, use feedback to improve their skills and attempt every task with their best effort.

To achieve Excellence, we encourage our students to set goals, take responsibility for their personal best, and actively explore new ideas to solve problems. This commitment extends to contributing to the community and celebrating the achievements of others alongside their own.

Finally, we uphold Integrity by requiring students to be accountable for their actions and to do the right thing, even when it is difficult. This includes acting responsibly online, respecting the privacy and rights of others to learn, and valuing diverse perspectives within our school.

Rewarding and Acknowledging Success

At Kellyville High School we recognise students for demonstrating the core values of Learning, Excellence, and Integrity through a structured, multi-tiered Merit and Recognition Scheme and a collective School House Competition. These systems are designed to reward positive behaviour, attendance, and leadership both individually and collectively.

We apply a tiered award system based on positive referrals recorded by teachers and office staff. Crucially, to progress through the levels, students must accrue referrals across all three core values, ensuring a holistic adherence to the school's values and expectations.

Distinguished Achiever Award

Beyond standard referrals, the school recognises specific instances of excellence in one or more fields, at school or outside of school through the Distinguished Achiever Award.

School House Competition

To foster community and collaboration, the school integrates individual merit into a collective School House Competition. Students are placed in four house groups and accumulate points that contribute to end of term and yearly house prizes.
